Final Essay Prompt


 9th Grade Final Essay
"I will" statement due Thursday at beginning of class.
Essay due to turnitin.com by 5PM Sunday. Lock out at 5:001 PM.  You MUST have an MLA Format Works Cited List ( purdueowl.edu).


Should travel to other parts of the world be part of the high school curriculum? After reading sections of the Odyssey and Their Eyes were Watching God that illustrate journeys to identity, write an essay in which you address the question and argue whether travel should be a required part of the high school curriculum. Support your position with evidence from both texts.  Make sure your address the potential counterarguments. Provide an MLA format Works Cited List for all texts.



Work with a partner to analyze the task to determine what you will need to do to successfully complete it. Highlight or underline each element or step of the task you need to consider, using a different color for each element. Once you have color coded each element of the task, create an “I will” statement to address what it is you will do to address each element of the prompt.
